The Association organizes Eid dinners at Parliament Hill in Ottawa and Queen’s Park in Toronto. This tradition, initiated by Mobeen Khaja in response to Mrs. Hillary Clinton’s White House Iftar initiative, began at Parliament Hill in May 1996 and at Queen's Park in 1999.

 

The gatherings foster a spirit of camaraderie and enjoyment. Awards are presented at the Eid and Canada Day celebrations to honor individuals and organizations for their contributions to justice, peace, equality, and fairness in Canada.

 

Notable attendees have included Prime Ministers Jean Chretien and Paul Martin, Ontario Premiers Mike Harris, Ernie Eves, and Dalton McGuinty, political leaders, Cabinet Ministers, MPs, Mayors, diplomats, and police chiefs.
